"Class"keeping Business:
Interactive Notebooks:
This year we will be using Interactive Notebooks instead of a traditional textbook. It is extremely important for you to have a durable spiral-bound notebook and an accordion folder (to hold loose papers) for the first week of school. STUDENTS WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR KEEPING UP WITH THEIR INTERACTIVE NOTEBOOKS. Make sure that you review and sign the Interactive Notebook contract in your child's Interactive Notebook.
QR Scanner:
If you have a smart phone, you will want to download a QR Scanner. We will be using QR Codes for a variety of class activities. If you do not have a smart phone, don't worry! We will have other ways to complete the tasks.
Safety Contract:
All students and parents will be required to sign a science safety contract in order to participate in science labs. This contract can be found in your child's Interactive Notebook. It is imperative that you and your child read the science safety guidelines and understand the expectations in the science classroom.
PowerSchool:
Don't forget to make sure that your child's information is updated in PowerSchool. This information is what I will use to contact you throughout the year.
Remind:
If you have not joined Remind, please do so! Remind is an excellent way for me to be able to contact you with reminders and updates for what is going on in science. Click Here to join! You can also Contact Me to find out how to join your child's Homeroom teacher's Remind.
Class Dojo:
This year in Science we will be utilizing Class Dojo to keep track of students' attendance and positive behaviors. During the first week of school, your child will bring home a sheet with instructions for you on how to monitor your child's progress in class through Class Dojo. For more information, Click Here.
